Electric vs. Gas green coffee roasting machines?

I was wondering what is the difference between an electric and gas (LPG) coffee roasting machine?

Does that mean that one works better than the other and how one another impact environment?

Can anybody possibly explain in details with some possible cited sources? I would greatly appreciate your help.
